ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature

  • ½ cup vegetable shortening

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 ¾ cups flour

  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt​

for rolling:

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Step 1:

Heat oven to 400°F. In a small bowl mix together the sugar and cinnamon and set aside. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt and set aside.


Step 2:

Using a stand or hand mixer, mix butter, shortening and eggs thoroughly. Add dry ingredients.

Mix to combine. Scoop the dough using this scoop or about a tablespoons worth, then roll each cookie in the cinnamon sugar mixture.


Step 3:

Place on baking sheet, lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper, about 2 inches apart and bake for 8-10 minutes.
